What Conditions Does Invisalign® Treat

Patients can be a candidate for Invisalign if they’re dealing with any of the following:

  • Overbite: Occurs when the top front teeth extend too far over the bottom front teeth.
  • Underbite: Occurs when the bottom front teeth extend too far over the top front teeth.
  • Crossbite: Occurs when the upper teeth come down more than just slightly in front of the lower teeth when biting down.
  • Crowding and Tight spaces: Occurs when there is not enough space in the mouth to accommodate all the teeth, causing cleansing issues
  • Gaps/Spaces Between Teeth: Occurs as a result of an accident, injury, lost teeth or extractions which leave open spaces or cause teeth to shift, causing food traps.

Getting Started with Invisalign®

When you come to our office, we’ll do an examination to understand what your objectives are in being fitted for Invisalign®.

Then, we’ll take X-rays, photographs and impressions of your teeth. Our Itero 3D scanner will show you your expected results within minutes.  A 3-D image of your teeth is used to create a treatment plan customized to your teeth.

The Invisalign® Plan

Based on treatment plan, custom-made clear aligners are created specifically for you and slide right over your teeth. You will need to wear these aligners all day and only remove them to eat or brush and floss your teeth.

These comfortable aligners will be changed approximately every 10 days, gradually making the changes you desire in each stage. The total number of stages will depend on the changes necessary.

Many patients will finish in about months. Most will finish in less than a year.

Dr. Lokitis will be your cheerleaders throughout the process, we’ll have you stop in regularly to make sure everything is progressing well with achieving your best smile. Dr. Lokitis will also provide one set of retainers for you.
